Ron Desrosiers did 2 days of tree education on May 2nd and 3rd on Vinalhaven at the Grange. We planted 2 American Chestnuts that will eventually provide a beautiful gateway for the approach to the Grange. He gave a talk about the history of those trees which is provided for your enjoyment in the PDF below. On Saturday he did a hands on demo of grafting and provided instruction on the several types of grafting: bench, top working, bridge and bud grafting were all covered.
